MAROLA - Human Potential Programme Trans-National Access To Research Infrastructures
Objectives
Open the Ship Dynamics Laboratory to European research workers for joint projects with CEHIPAR within the framework of the EU Human Potential Programme.
The research themes included in this project were:
"Frictional resistance characteristics of a foul-release coating and the potential for drag reduction", with the University of Newcastle.
"Roll motion of production barges", with Marseilles University.
"Interaction between ships", with Trieste University.
"Damage stability experiments of a Ro-Ro passenger ferry", with the National Technical University of Athens.
"Manoeuvring tests on a catamaran model", with Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon.
"The measurement of the drift forces, the air-gap and the wave run-up in cylinders", with the National Technical University of Athens.
"Deck wetness and slamming in severe sea-states", with Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon.
"Experimental investigation of a deck wetness prediction method", with BSHC, Varna.
"Wake shielding effects of groups of marine risers in cross flows" with Glasgow University.
"Experimental investigation of launching of evacuation systems on passenger ships", with Gothenburg University.
