Software. Ship Dynamics Laboratory.

List of programs

In-house CEHIPAR-developed software::

1. ANAOLAS. Analysis program.
Analysis of time series recorded during the tests: calculation of statistical values, time and frequency domain analysis, calculation of derivative channels, response operators, graphic visualization of the data.

2. TOMADATOS. Data acquisition program.
Saving the data samples from tests and showing them in real time on the screen as electrical or physical values for the full-scale or the model. Permits calibration of sensors. The data is transmitted via the intranet.

3. FONDEOLAS. Mooring simulations.
Simulates the mooring maneuvers of multiple cables and or chains, ballasts, buoys, tugs etc. The ship’s first and second order movements due to the waves, the wind and the currents are included in the simulation. P.I.D. control can be defined for the simulation of the principal engine and the thrusters’ action.



4. DPOLAS. Dynamic positioning of the ship.
Real-time simulation of the action of the currents and the wind, applying the forces and moments to the thrusters of the ship model or on calibrated fans mounted on board for this purpose.

5. HACEOLAS. Wave generation program.
Creates files containing the signals for control of the wave generator flaps. Can make regular, irregular (Jonswap, ITTC, P-M, etc), oblique and episodic waves etc.



6. HIDROLAS. Control program for the Wave Generator’s Hydraulic Power Plant.
Controls the starting and stopping of the engines, the alarms, putting the flaps in initial position, beginning and closing of the wave generation etc. All this is done via remote control over the TCPIP intranet.



7. 2DOLAS. Program for 2D calculation of the added masses, damping and exciting forces due to waves.
Using the geometric hull definition file, the user defines two-dimensional sections on the hull and the range of frequencies to be calculated. Vertical and transverse oscillations are considered together with a roll motion using the Frank method and Himeno formulation to calculate the damping.



8. ESTATOLAS. Statistical Analysis of Environmental Data
Analyzes data on currents, wind and waves; and generates 2D and 3D graphics and tables of bar charts, contour level curves, wind rose, etc. Calculates duration and interval tables. The extreme value analysis of the data is performed adjusting them with different standard probabilistic distributions, such as 2D and 3D Weibull, Gumbel, Log-Normal, Rayleigh, etc.



Proprietary Software:

1. PRECAL. Sea-keeping program developed jointly by various companies, including CEHIPAR. It is based on a linear free-surface potential flow solution and calculates the movements of a mono-hull or catamaran ships for any speed and course defined by the user. The program also outputs accelerations, relative motions, added resistance etc.
